Hi, I’m Rod Murphy and I’d like to welcome you to the Hunting page of Youth Outdoors USA!  Hunting has been a passion of mine since I was a young boy growing up in Kansas. It is a tradition that has been passed down for countless generations, and for the first time in history, it is in danger of being eliminated.  In order to reverse this trend, we need your help to get today’s youth involved in sharing the great tradition that was passed down to us!

Hunting taught me many things growing up.  Learning how to handle a firearm and understanding the responsibilities that go along with that, will last a lifetime.  Developing the patience to sit in a tree stand three hours a day for weeks, waiting for the right deer to come along, will carry over through all aspects of life.  Respecting the animal after the kill, and learning to not waste any of the meat, is another valuable lesson.  Most importantly, by getting out of the house and into the outdoors I was able to fully experience the true wonders of Mother Nature.

So let’s go moms and dads.  Sign your son or daughter up for a Hunter’s Safety course today.  Get them started down the path to becoming the next generation of responsible caretakers of the great outdoors!  We must preserve the great tradition of hunting, so it can continue to be passed on for generations to come!
