The individual sports page of Youth Outdoors USA is being directed by Nick Coe, another guy who has been involved in the outdoors for many years.  His cousin, Clayton Sampson, who is an 11 yr old from Mason City Iowa, would like to give the intro for the YOUSA Individual Sports page.  Clayton is involved in football, baseball, tennis, and track.  He has two younger sisters, Kacy and Claire, and a couple of wonderful grandparents who are taking him fishing in Canada this summer!  On that note, I'll turn Individual Sports YOUSA over to Clayton!

“How good you do in individual sports all depends on how much you’re willing to work at them.  For example, in tennis you will never be good if you don't run or practice, but if you jog around your neighborhood or hit tennis balls against your house you will become good.  In individual sports you don't have any team members to depend on...   it all depends on how good you are.  It is not like in football, where if you miss a tackle your team mates will cover for you. So I suggest if you want to do an individual sport... get working.”

Outstanding advice, Clayton!
